We have a team of professionals that serve the State and Local government industry year round. We have devoted six partners and thirty staff members to our State and Local Government industry team. This enables our firm to staff our state and local governmental engagements with qualified professionals in the industry, providing valuable services and resources to our governmental clients during the engagement and throughout the year, as well as insuring consistency and quality of staffing multi-year engagements. We can assure our clients that none of the staff assigned to an engagement would need any “on the job accounting or financial reporting training” by the government’s staff.

During the most recent calendar year, our state and local government team provided services to more than 200 cities, villages, towns and other units of government, including the second, fifth and eighth largest cities and the second and third largest park districts. We helped the second largest city in Illinois become one of the first in the nation to implement GASB 43 and 45. Recently one of our clients was upgraded to a AAA bond rating becoming one of only three park districts in the State of Illinois to achieve this distinction.

These clients and related work have enabled our Firm to develop an extensive nationally recognized expertise in governmental accounting, auditing and financial reporting procedures and practices. We have led the industry in implementing complex pronouncements issued by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
